Rules to Be Followed in Exams
- Students must bring their student ID card/student certificate to the exam and keep it on their desk throughout the exam. Students without an ID/certificate will not be admitted to the exam.
- Exam supervisors are authorized to arrange the seating plan in the exam hall; they may change students’ seats both before and during the exam.
- First 15 Minutes Rule: Unless a different period is announced by the relevant academic unit, no student may leave the exam hall within the first 15 minutes after the exam begins. Latecomers are not granted extra time; students arriving more than 15 minutes after the exam starts will not be allowed into the exam hall.
- Except in compulsory situations, students who leave the exam hall are not allowed to continue the exam.
- Mobile phones, smartwatches, cameras, and other communication or recording devices must remain switched off throughout the exam.
- Before starting the exam, students must check their desks and surroundings; if they notice any writing or signs related to the exam on the desk, walls, floor, or windows, they must inform the exam supervisor.
- Items other than pencils, erasers, ID cards, and exam materials—such as bags, phones, or clothing items—must be kept out of the student’s reach during the exam.
- With the permission of the course instructor, calculators, dictionaries, rulers, etc. may be used during the exam.
- Sharing any materials—including pencils, erasers, calculators, or similar items—during the exam is strictly prohibited.
- In open-book or open-notes exams, such materials may be used only by one student; sharing is not allowed.
- Students should communicate requests such as asking a question or requesting extra paper from their seats, without disturbing other students.
- Students must comply with all instructions given by the exam supervisors throughout the exam.
- Cheating Warning: Students who attempt to cheat, cheat, help others cheat, or take an exam on behalf of someone else will face administrative action.
- At the end of the exam, all exam papers and materials must be submitted to the exam supervisors.
- Students must check that their identity information and signatures on the exam papers are complete when submitting them; responsibility lies with the student.
- Answers may not be written on any paper and taken outside the exam hall. The authority regarding the disclosure of exam questions belongs to the course instructor.
- After leaving the exam hall, students must clear the corridor quietly and promptly.
- Disciplinary Warning: Administrative action will be initiated under Article 54 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547 against students who fail to follow exam rules; disrupt or obstruct the exam; argue with supervisors; leave the hall before the designated time; or refuse to comply with exam-related instructions given by the supervisors.
